Monday Morning Writers Block

Some days, especially Monday's, it's hard for me to find something to write about. It's not that Monday's are any different than any other day of the week considering I'm retired and one day just blends into another. I think Monday's are difficult due to the fact that for years it signaled the beginning of the work week and I, along with millions of other people, hated going back to work on a Monday. My last place of employment, before I retired, started my work week on a Sunday. That really wasn't so bad because it in essence eliminated the Monday factor and along with that, Thursday was my last day of work so I could lie in bed on Friday's and snicker at the thought of everyone else heading out to work.

The drawback of all this is that I am not in daily contact with coworkers or management. Management alone could fill my blog page each and every day. We all know that a lot of management personnel are not the brightest crayons in the box. I think that for a lot of us Monday's were awful too because along with our grumpy trek to work, management also had a grumpy trek to work. Perhaps, in their frustration, knowing they had full control over their employees, each and every one of them plotted ways to vent their foul moods each and every Monday by taking it out on the staff. I found particularly interesting that the most stupid management memos were posted on Monday mornings. Things like, "Whoever posted a memo on the company memo board without going through the permission memo process can not freely post a memo." Or, "Food left in the refrigerator unmarked will be thrown out." I think that particular manager had way too much time on his hands. Either that or he was very hungry and got tired of rifling through lunch bags for food. My favorite management memo on a Monday morning was, "Please initial this memo so that I know that you have read it." There was nothing else on the memo other than that!

So, here we are confronting another Monday. A majority of you are off to work while I sit here blogging on and on. I am comforted by the fact that I do not have to face those Monday morning memos. Just the list of things my other half has written down for me to do today. But you know, she IS the brightest crayon in the box. At least in MY crayon box.
